Well I must be the last in the world to find out, but Polaroid is no longer making instant film. I guess this is the end of film, or chemical imaging in general. The founder of Polaroid was one of those mad scientist like Tesla. His name was Edwin H. Land and he had 533 patents when he died in 1991, more than any inventor since Edison. He is said to often be so deep in concentration that he would not eat or sleep for days on end.

Many bought up all the extra film and are keeping it for themselves for future use. There are sites devoted to saving Polaroid, but I think the time is over. There are sites devoted to selling old film, but the supply has ended.
